Coupling Head
- The coupling head will be fully inspected to ensure correct/ smooth operations, the following give an outline as to the process:-
- Coupling head and safety catch for wear and lubricate if required
- Check/clean pads on ball acting stabiliser
- Condition and routing of breakaway cable and clip
- Operation of overrun piston-lubricate
- Operation of jockey wheel -lubricate
- Operation of handbrake - lubricate
- Check brake rods, cables and supports
Replacement of wheels and tyres
Once the servicing has taken place we will then replace the wheels and perform the 1st torque setting, torquing the wheel nuts/bolts to the manufacturers settings.
Once the vehicle is fully back on the ground we will perform a witnessed 2nd torque to further reduce any risk of wheel detachment.
Corner Steadies, spare wheel carrier
- The final part of the Chassis service will involve the following
- Corner steadies operation looking for any signs of damage or failure and lubrication
- Check spare wheel carrier and spare tyre condition age, tread depth etc
- folding step for operation and lubricate (where fitted)

Wheels, tyres and wheel nuts/bolts
- Wheels and tyres will be removed and inspected taking note of the general condition signs of damage/cracks in the side walls etc, tread depth and age of tyre.
- We will also inspect condition of wheel nuts bolts looking for any obvious signs of wear or damage and in some instances your service engineer may suggest replacement
Brake drums will be removed during the service cleaned and inspected for warping damage or wheel bearing failure.
- Remove brake drums check bearings, seals and linings. Clean and lubricate
- Replace drum with new split pin or one shot nut and torque as required
- Adjust brakes at drum and check free play in the linkage and at handbrake
- Check operation of suspension assemblies and ATC controls
Please note "one shot nuts" & any consumable items such as grease lubricates are included in the price of service. Parts such as brake pads are chargeable items
Road and running Lights
All road and running lights will be checked using a tow tester to ensure correct operation
